About the project: Nova Partners was brought on by Google to provide construction management services for the tenant improvements of approximately 115,000 sf of newly leased office space over four floors in Mountain View, CA.
Architect: WRNS Studio
General Contractor: Dome Construction
Size: 115,000 sf
The scope of work included a new four story structural stair filling the space with a highly intricate millwork feature wall that rises from the first floor café through the fourth floor and is capped with a new skylight to bring natural light into the space. The project also includes a new full service café with two service stations, a new fitness center that includes showers and locker rooms on the first floor, as well as a new coffee bar on the fourth floor with sweeping views of Google’s main campus to Moffett Field.
Inspired by the beauty and simplicity of the Northern California landscape, the design inside the building draws upon the distinct experience of traveling throughout the landscape of California. Collaboration spaces are located around the central stair and connect seamlessly to shared amenities and views to nature. “Duck-ins” introduce a casual first-come, first-serve environment between collaboration spaces and open desking. Each of these alcoves is a unique tableau of upholstered seating and warm finishes that make the duck-ins desirable for both focused and group work. This project also includes the construction of a new patio area next to the café for exterior seating, a new dog run, and trash enclosure.
