About the project:

Rockpoint Group & SIC Lakeside Drive, LLC hired Nova Partners to assist in the renovation and improvement of a 12,700 sf, two-story lobby as part of the process of moving towards a Class A building in the up-and-coming uptown Oakland district. As the centerpiece
of a full building overhaul of the historic Kaiser Center Tower at 300 Lakeside Drive, the Lobby project is an extensive revamp, including the removal of the current finishes and escalator to accommodate modern finishes and a floating cantilevered staircase designed by Gensler Architects. The renovation also featured an upgrade of the landscape and storefront facing Lake Merritt.

As part of the renovation, the 16 elevators serving 3 separate banks and 6 lobbies were modernized to a destination dispatch system allowing faster, more efficient travel throughout the tower. Nova led a complicated coordination process that involved maintaining tenant access through the lobby and elevator construction process.

A sizable project with an aggressive nine-month construction schedule, Nova used its industry leverage to lead the charge in identifying and contracting only the best critical sole source design-build contractors to expedite the project schedule.
