About the Client: Seagate Properties, located in San Rafael, acquires, renovates and operates properties throughout the Western United States. In 2008, the Marin County Board of Supervisors has named Seagate Properties, Inc. “Golden Spire Outstanding Business of the Year.”

Project Description: The project includes the addition of two four-story core and shell Class A speculative office buildings comprising 156,000 SF and one 121,000 SF four-story parking structure to an existing office complex in San Rafael. The value is about $84M and was completed in 2009. The project is a former PG&E “brown” site and construction complied with a detailed set of regulations to build safely. The project is certified LEED Gold by the USGBC. The sustainable features include beating Title 24 by 18%, no CFC refrigerants, high-energy performance, enhanced commissioning, 40% water reduction, recycled over 75% of construction waste, low emitting materials, and use of more than 10% recycled materials.

Nova Partners’ Role: Nova Partners was hired as the construction project manager responsible for complete construction management, including preconstruction services, coordination of the bidding process, and managing the project schedule and budget to a successful completion.
